It was cold and blustery one late afternoon in October. The horses were outside in the corral, and because of the weather I decided to put them into the barn and blanket them. The barn had individual stalls, and each stall had a Dutch door on the exterior wall of the barn and a heavy steel sliding door on the interior. As I entered through the sliding door of the stall where my horse was, a gust of wind blew through the open upper portion of the Dutch door. It caught the blanket I was holding and caused it to billow, and my horse became frantic and began spinning in the stall.
I had left the interior door partially open, and I slowly backed through the small opening. Unfortunately, my horse saw the opening as well and charged the door. I had barely exited the stall when 1,000 pounds of horse sent me flying, and I forcefully hit the opposite block wall.
My knees took the full impact and were severely damaged. Nevertheless, I felt impelled to get up and go to my horse, who had run outside into the corral. It was not human will but the one divine Mind, God, that impelled me and gave me the strength to get up and check on my horse.
