Testimonies of Healing

So far as physical healing is concerned. Christian Science has been more of a preventive than a cure for me, for I have had the blessing of being practically brought up in Science and have hardly known what sickness was.

I came to Christian Science, not for physical healing, but because I was in search of a religion which could be proved. I was brought up in a denominational church and was faithful to its teaching, but did not find the deep peace or complete understanding of God which I desired.

After having been healed of many diseases, both of the chronic and acute types, to say nothing of other wonderful proofs of the omnipresence of God brought home to me through the study and application of Christian Science, in my everyday life. I feel it my duty to God, to our revered Leader.

I feel it a privilege as well as a duty to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for the benefits received, both mental and physical. I have been studying Christian Science for many years and have had healings too numerous to mention.

Many times I have had the desire to write my testimony for the Journal or Sentinel, and be a grateful witness to the healing power of Christian Science in every problem. When I was a little girl Christian Science came into my life through my mother, but I did not make it my own until after I left my home and had to stand alone with God.

With grateful appreciation for the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science, I desire through my testimony to help those who may be surrounded by inharmonious conditions to see the right way. Everything in the line of material medicine had been tried but without results, but through Christian Science, and encouraged by a practitioner whose help enabled me to strive for the attainable good with unswerving patience, although my senses often wanted to rob me of the hope of ever becoming well again, I was completely restored and am now healthier than ever before.

Christian Science came to me after I had made an earnest search in the Bible to find an explanation of the healing work of Jesus and his disciples and the early Christians. I knew that the answer was specifically given in the sixth chapter of John's gospel, where Jesus pointed his disciples away from matter to Spirit as the source of life, but not until "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was placed in my hands was the science of the Bible explained so clearly that I was enabled to see conclusively the nothingness of matter, and that, as Mrs.

It is many years since I first began the study and practice of Christian Science, and I am more grateful than words can express for this revelation of Truth, given to us by our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Several years ago I gave a testimony which was printed in The Christian Science Journal, and I now feel I must once again tell others that this truth has never failed me and I know it never will, as I am daily gaining more reliance upon God.

Christian Science is the greatest blessing that has come into my life, for it meets every need when rightly applied. Words fail to express my gratitude for this wonderful truth— the truth that makes one free.
