Testimonies of Healing

Our home was divided in regard to Christian Science. My mother had been reared in Science but for some years my father was opposed to it.

I was brought up in a religious home and sequestered environment in which we all had a staunch faith in traditional Christian doctrines of our church. I liked this quality of staunchness and looked upon it as a kind of anchor, though it never satisfied me.

It is with heartfelt gratitude that I give this testimony. From the age of four I had been in several hospitals for a chest complaint.

Friends introduced me to Christian Science when I was facing several difficulties: constant illness, lack, and unemployment. At my first visit to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, I was deeply impressed by the wonderful testimonies given.

My blessings are too numerous not to share with others the healings my family and I have had through reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and daily applying the Christ, Truth, it reveals. For some years after my marriage my health was poor.

When I first began to learn of God through the study of Christian Science I rejoiced, "O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day" ( Ps. 119:97 ).

Over twenty years ago when I was in the second grade, one might have described me as a rather shy and timid child, tending to cling to my mother as often as possible. I cried before being prodded to embark on the school bus each day.

My mother enrolled me in the Sunday School of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, when I was eight years old. My father had passed on just a few weeks before.

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits" ( Ps. 103:2 ).

Deep gratitude to God for the Master, Christ Jesus, and for Mrs. Eddy, inspires me to share this testimony of healing.
