Testimonies of Healing
When I was first told of Christian Science by my sister, to whom I express loving thanks, I lived in the country many miles from the nearest Christian Science church and from a practitioner. The first time, as far as I can recall, that I attempted to put this teaching into practice was a day when I was using boiling water while doing household chores.
When I was a freshman in high school, a classmate invited me to attend the Christian Science Sunday School. After that I became a regular attendant, and within a year, my parents, having witnessed the change for the better in my experience, began to attend a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and later became active members.

I was rooming in the house of one who had been quite deaf for twenty years and had not gone beyond her garden gate through fear of being run down.
The first proof which I had of God's healing power, gained through my study of Christian Science, was to me a remarkable one. One day I was cleaning the drain in the kitchen sink with a chemical preparation which was much stronger than the one I ordinarily used.
" Gratitude and love should abide in every heart each day of all the years" (Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy, Art.
Prior to coming into Christian Science, I always felt inferior to others. Through sincere study of the Bible and of Science and Health, as well as Mrs.
The Psalmist sang ( Ps. 91:1 ), "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Christian Science was brought to our attention over thirty years ago in those faraway islands now called Indonesia, where a consecrated Dutch practitioner opened the spiritual door in my thought and let in a flood of light. The doctors had said to my husband that they could not do anything more for him.
