Testimonies of Healing
When a boy in my teens, I was a member of a Sunday School class in an orthodox church. Each Sunday our teacher selected a chapter from the Bible for us to read aloud.
I have experienced many wonderful healings by depending entirely on God, as we are taught to do in Christian Science. I am humbly grateful to Mary Baker Eddy for sharing this great truth which her love for humanity has made possible.
In the Bible we read ( Eph. 2:19 ), "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God.
The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, tells us in Science and Health ( p. 66 ), "Trials are proofs of God's care.
Since I was five years old our family has used only Christian Science to meet all its needs. I had the wonderful opportunity of attending a Christian Science Sunday School until I was twenty years old, and now I am teaching in the Sunday School.
Mary Baker Eddy , the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes (Science and Health, p. 62 ), "The entire education of children should be such as to form habits of obedience to the moral and spiritual law, with which the child can meet and master the belief in so-called physical laws, a belief which breeds disease.
Before I began the study of Christian Science, discouragement bordering on despair had taken possession of my thinking. I was compelled to search for a better way of meeting family and personal problems than the one I had been pursuing.
From childhood I had been afflicted with tuberculosis of the lungs and had spent most of my time in a sanatorium. By the time I had reached womanhood, the disease had spread to the bowels.
About 1954 a small growth appeared on my eyelid. Although I had been brought up in Christian Science since early childhood, I thought it would be simpler to go to a dermatologist and have it cauterized than to have it dissolved with the aid of Christian Science.
I was introduced to Christian Science through the healing of my mother of headaches. However, it was not until several years later that I took up the study of this Science.
