Testimonies of Healing

My earnest study of Christian Science began because of my desire to support and co-operate with another member of the family who had turned to this truth as a last resort for healing. After about four years of diligent study and persistent application of Christian Science, she was completely healed.

Christian Science was introduced to me at a time when everything in this world seemed dark. I felt there was nothing worth living for, and each night I wished there might not be another day.

Christian Science is a religion of joy, and I am so very grateful for the change it has made in my life. Resentment, hate, rebellion, have been overcome through its study and with the help of Christian Science practitioners.

Since the publication of my previous testimony in the Journal , May, 1934, our family has received many blessings through the application of the truths of Christian Science in the way of healings of so-called children's diseases, broken bones, scarlet fever, and stammering. Home and business problems have also been solved.

When I was a young girl, my home was very unhappy, and suddenly my mother, sister, and I were left to take care of ourselves. For some years I resented this separation, and I felt I had been deprived of a father's care and protection.

Over twenty years ago, after we had been married for several years, it was our desire to have a family. This not having come about, I visited a physician who informed me that a medical adjustment would have to be made before I could have a child.

I was led to Christian Science by a desire for an understanding of the Bible. As a child, I loved to read the Bible stories.

Having waited well over fifty years, I feel I should not delay longer my tribute of praise and gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. I first heard of this Science whilst living in India; and having discarded my old theological beliefs, due to the influence of certain philosophical writers, I was ready to imbibe the dynamic truths presented to the world by Mary Baker Eddy.

I am grateful for the spiritual help I received in my high school and college work through realizing that, as Christian Science reveals, intelligence originates in God, divine Mind, not in a material brain, and that it is equally available to all to claim and use. By applying the truth stated in Psalms ( 138:8 ), "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me," I was able to attain a perfect mark in a very important high school history test.

I have experienced a lifetime of protection and healings through Christian Science. Because my parents were both students of this Science, my earliest recollections are of turning to the truth for help.
