Testimonies of Healing
Mary Baker Eddy states in Science and Health ( p. 494 ), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need.
The following is an experience which came to me in my capacity as an industrial engineer. In 1932, when the depression was being felt, the owner of a company requested my services in an endeavor to save his business from liquidation by his creditors.
It is a great privilege to comply with the Bible injunction ( Ps. 107:2 ), "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.
From earliest childhood one of my great desires was to be very devout, and because I did not attain this goal, I was often very sad. Later on, even though I was enjoying a happy and harmonious married life, I often suffered from a sense of depression, which my husband used to describe as the earth weight.
For many proofs of God's infinite care for His children, I am deeply grateful. Since early childhood I have received healings through the application of Christian Science.
About twenty-eight years ago I had a testimony in the Christian Science Sentinel relating my healing and the healings of others in my family. Now I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings I have experienced since then.
I was a registered medical nurse when I was led to Christian Science and was completely healed of tuberculosis. The most capable doctor in the hospital where I had been working said that I had only about three to six weeks to live unless surgery were performed, in which case I was not assured health, only a more comfortable state until the end.
In the Bible we read ( Ps. 105:1, 2 ): "O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, tells us on page 167 of Science and Health, "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized. " Her statement was brought home to me by the healing of a fractured pelvis, sustained in 1952, when I fell on the grounds of a Veterans Hospital.
It is with great joy that I express my gratitude for Christian Science. I have known no other means of healing, and many have been the blessings I have received.
