Testimonies of Healing

I am truly grateful for Christian Science. Through the years since I became a student of this wonderful teaching, I have had many healings.

We have had so many wonderful healings in Christian Science and have been blessed with so much good that my expression of gratitude is long overdue. This Science came into my life about twelve years ago when my husband, who had attended a Christian Science Sunday School as a boy, decided to return to the church of his youth, and I went with him.

" Are we really grateful for the good already received?" asks Mary Baker Eddy on page 3 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. " This probing question has aroused in me the desire to write an expression of gratitude for what Christian Science has meant in my experience.

As I lay ill with fever one day, worrying about my health and about many other problems, I was seized with deep despair. I felt that life was so hard to live, not only for me, but for thousands of people who were much worse off than I was.

Those of us who have had Christian Science all our lives know that no one is ever "born" a Christian Scientist. Such a one still must learn to use effectively the truths which he has been taught and to adhere to divine Principle, God.

About twenty-five years ago I was very ill and despondent, having tried many material means to regain my lost health but to no avail. I think what worried me most was the thought that I would not live to rear our children.

For over fifty years I have been receiving great blessings due to the knowledge of Christian Science which I have gained over that period of time. I came into this Science through my mother's healing of grief and of various physical difficulties which had kept her in ill-health for many years.

It is with sincere gratitude to God for Christian Science and for the many blessings it has brought me that I give this testimony. My first healing was that of a chronic throat trouble which had bothered me all through my early childhood.

While reviewing some home movies recently, our family was reminded of a healing which occurred as a result of holding to the truths taught in Christian Science. We had almost forgotten about this event, since it occurred a number of years ago.
