Testimonies of Healing
I am grateful that my mother realized when I was a small child that Christian Science was the only religion which she wanted for herself and her children. My kindergarten teacher was a Christian Scientist, and through her help and friendship during all my school years and for many years afterward, I shall always be grateful.
I feel impelled to express my deep gratitude for a wonderful healing experienced through the application of divine Truth, as revealed in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. One day my son evidenced symptoms of polio.
When in 1922 Christian Science was first brought to my notice by my mother, I was in very poor health. I had been suffering for nearly six years from the effects of an aeroplane crash.
Since the day Christian Science was first presented to me, it has proved to be a heaven-sent blessing. God has lovingly met my every need, as a mother meets the need of her own precious child.
I am deeply grateful for some understanding of Christian Science. It is more than thirty-five years since I learned of this great Truth, and I have had many proofs of its healing power during this period.
I was a small child when Christian Science healed my mother of a case of Bright's disease which had been pronounced incurable. In the Christian Science Sunday School I accepted the fundamental truths of God's goodness and His unfailing care of His beloved children so readily and used them so successfully that I was fully protected from various forms of inharmony.
It is time for me to express my gratitude for the many experiences and healings I have had since my first testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel of July 24, 1943. In the intervening years I have had innumerable proofs that when the law of God is understood and applied correctly to any problem, it brings about a right solution.
Having known of Christian Science all my life, I wish to give written testimony of the power of Truth to heal. In my early childhood I was healed of inflammatory rheumatism, which completely disabled me for a period of one month.
A friend once said to me, "All the trouble anyone ever has comes from thinking about the physical nobody which he is not, instead of appreciating the spiritual somebody which he really is. " A few years ago I experienced symptoms of what I believed to be cancer, and I found myself thinking about "the physical nobody.
In 1946 my husband and I attended a Christian Science lecture given in Italian, and I became acquainted with this religion. To me it was like a ray of light which illumines the dark cell of a prisoner.
