Testimonies of Healing
I am deeply grateful for some understanding of Christian Science. It is more than thirty-five years since I learned of this great Truth, and I have had many proofs of its healing power during this period.
I was a small child when Christian Science healed my mother of a case of Bright's disease which had been pronounced incurable. In the Christian Science Sunday School I accepted the fundamental truths of God's goodness and His unfailing care of His beloved children so readily and used them so successfully that I was fully protected from various forms of inharmony.
It is time for me to express my gratitude for the many experiences and healings I have had since my first testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel of July 24, 1943. In the intervening years I have had innumerable proofs that when the law of God is understood and applied correctly to any problem, it brings about a right solution.
Having known of Christian Science all my life, I wish to give written testimony of the power of Truth to heal. In my early childhood I was healed of inflammatory rheumatism, which completely disabled me for a period of one month.
A friend once said to me, "All the trouble anyone ever has comes from thinking about the physical nobody which he is not, instead of appreciating the spiritual somebody which he really is. " A few years ago I experienced symptoms of what I believed to be cancer, and I found myself thinking about "the physical nobody.
In 1946 my husband and I attended a Christian Science lecture given in Italian, and I became acquainted with this religion. To me it was like a ray of light which illumines the dark cell of a prisoner.
I can never express in words my gratitude for Christian Science, which has given me an understanding of man's at-one-ment with our Father-Mother God, and a peace that the world can neither give nor take away. My interest in Science began many years ago.
Many years ago I heard for the first time a Christian Science lecture. I was deeply impressed by it and by the happy faces of the people attending it.
The testimonies in our periodicals have been of much encouragement and inspiration to me from the time I learned to read, and I wish to contribute my own public expression of gratitude. I have experienced the benefits of Christian Science since I was four years of age; so my blessings have been too numerous to repeat or even to recall.
Many times I have felt I should express by means of our periodicals my deep gratitude to our heavenly Father for the wonderful and manifold blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science. In 1896 I was suffering from a condition which the doctors had pronounced incurable.
