Testimonies of Healing
All my life I had suffered from attacks of influenza. After taking up the study of Christian Science, each time the symptoms presented themselves I tried to watch my thought and deny their entrance by knowing that only good is real and that any other influence has only the power that mortal mind gives it, which in reality is no power.
Because Christian Science has taught me the truth concerning God and His manifestation, man, and false beliefs have been corrected by right concepts of God and man, my human experience has grown smoother and brighter. My first glimpse of Christian Science came as a result of curiosity.
I have had many healings in the forty years I have been interested in Christian Science. As a very young student of this Science I was deeply impressed to learn that God's healing power is everywhere.
My appreciation of the many blessings I have received since gaining a little understanding of Christian Science is greater than can be expressed in words. Soon after my marriage I received an invitation from a sister-in-law to attend a Christian Science church service with her.
I am very grateful for Christian Science and for the blessings which have come to me and my family through this wonderful truth. It was while my husband was serving in the armed forces overseas that I caught my first glimpse of this great truth.
For thirty-three years I was a physician practicing medicine. About eleven years ago, after a period of illness, I was told by-physicians that if I wanted to prolong my life, I would have to retire from active practice.
My entire life has been changed since I took up the study of Christian Science. When it was first presented to me many years ago, I was a semi-invalid and had spent most of my time in bed.
The words of Jesus, "Seek, and ye shall find" ( Matt. 7:7 ), have definitely proved themselves true in my experience.
The Psalmist wrote, "Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" ( Ps. 107:15.
I am grateful for Christian Science, for it means everything to me. I did not begin the study of this religion because of the need of a physical healing, but because I had been told that it was God-inspired and that it was based on the teachings of Christ Jesus.
