Testimonies of Healing

It was about twenty years ago that Christian Science first came into my experience. At that time, I had removed my residence from an eastern city to entirely new surroundings in the West.

The Christian Science Sentinel and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, brought Christian Science to our home about twenty-three years ago. I would pick up the Sentinel, to which a brother of my husband subscribed, and read it whenever I had a few moments.

In all humility I gratefully offer this testimony, hoping that it may help someone, as I have so often been helped through testimonies which T have read in our periodicals. When Christian Science was first presented to me by a friend, I did not at once become an earnest student of it, although shortly thereafter I experienced two instantaneous healings as a result of one treatment by a practitioner.

Christian Science was presented to me about twenty-two years ago by a Christian Scientist with whom I was boarding. I purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, read it every day, and at the end of two weeks a healing took place.

In 1938 I was healed of nightmare, accompanied by dizziness, with an aggravated sense of being partly awake and not knowing where I was. This depressing condition, together with the fear that disease has power to return has been overcome through the study and application of Christian Science.

I am sincerely grateful for Christian Science and for all the good it has brought to the world. That it heals, I have had proof after proof: failing eyesight, appendicitis, colds, influenza, fallen arches, periodic headaches, a growth, and many ills of which I do not know the names have been completely overcome when God's omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence have been glimpsed in a measure.

My first healing in Christian Science twenty-six years ago, was of tonsillitis. This form of tonsillitis was very severe; it occurred several times during the year, and I had suffered from it since I was a child.

With sincere gratitude I wish to express my deep appreciation of Christian Science and of what it has done and is doing for all mankind. That "man's extremity is God's opportunity" has been proved to me.

Christian Science has healed me of many ills, and for twenty years no medicine has passed my lips, nor has any physician prescribed for me. This is reason enough for me to be profoundly grateful; but greater causes for gratitude have been the healings of so-called mental anguish caused by remorse, grief, alcoholic intoxication, the use of tobacco, and other bad habits.

I should like to express my gratitude to God for the revelation of Christian Science, as set forth in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Through the reading of this textbook I was healed of the need of wearing glasses, which I had had to use for eyestrain and for headaches.
