Testimonies of Healing

Having received so much benefit from reading the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals, I wish publicly to express gratitude through this means for the many blessings which the study and application of Christian Science have brought into my life, with the thought that perhaps my experience may be helpful to others. Many years ago I witnessed a healing of tuberculosis of the bowels through Christian Science, and this must have in some way prepared my thought for the acceptance of this Science.

For all the blessings I have received through Christian Science I am deeply and inexpressibly grateful. I feel I have much to be thankful for besides physical healings.

From early childhood I had been yearning for a satisfying religion. I had investigated many different denominations and cults, but, with due respect to all of them, I must admit that each one interested me only for a little while.

For some time at my place of business so many demands were made upon me that I had insufficient time to do my own work properly, and consequently I seemed to be under constant nervous tension. There were days when I felt I should be at home, on account of poor health, but the work was of such a nature that it accumulated during my absence, and I preferred to be at my post.

I became interested in the study of Christian Science more than thirty-five years ago, when a dear friend gave me a Sentinel. I read it all; but nothing seemed to appeal to me until I came to the last page.

It is with much gratitude that I give this testimony of a healing I experienced in September, 1915. For many years I had been afflicted with spinal trouble, which specialists had failed to cure.

In 1927 I took up the study of Christian Science for physical healing. I had been under the care of different physicians for about two years after a nervous breakdown, without finding any relief, when Christian Science was presented to me.

I first became interested in Christian Science in 1919. At that time I was very grateful to be alive and well after the Great War.

The healing power of righteous thinking as taught in Christian Science has been proved many times in my own experience and in that of my family. An instantaneous healing which I had when I was just a young Sunday school pupil was that of an ugly skin eruption which appeared on my limbs one morning.
