Testimonies of Healing
That "man's extremity is God's opportunity" was very definitely proved to me several years ago, when, through the study and application of Christian Science, and with the loving help of a practitioner, a most inharmonious situation was quickly and beautifully healed. We were striving at that time to overcome lack and unemployment in our home, and since I was the only member of the family who had a position, I felt I could not give it up, although the circumstances under which I worked seemed unbearably unhappy.
I desire to add my testimony, that the good done me may "redound to the glory of God. " My first healing in Christian Science was that of discouragement and despair, which were completely overcome and replaced with joyous confidence in God and Christian Science.
I am taking this opportunity to give thanks to God and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for the many blessings I have received. As a child I was brought up in an orthodox Sunday school.
With a heart full of gratitude I wish to report the wonderful healing of my eight-year-old daughter. In the spring of 1937, she became sick with appendicitis.
With gratitude to Christian Science, I offer my testimony of healing. Some thirty years ago I was suffering from a painful growth under the nail of one of my big toes.
When a child of twelve years, I was baptized and admitted to membership in an orthodox church in a small college town. The same year I heard Christian Science mentioned in a general discussion.
For twenty-four years Christian Science has been meeting my needs. I should like to mention an outstanding instance of protection and healing.
From early childhood I had not enjoyed physical harmony, and during the first year of our married life, ' my husband decided that I should seek advice from the best medical authority. He was a druggist by profession, and felt qualified to choose surgeons whose diagnoses could be trusted.
Christian Science came to me in answer to prayer, not for physical but for mental healing. One whom I dearly loved had passed on, leaving me with two young children to bring up, and I found that a complete change in my mode of living was necessary.
The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have so often helped me that I wish to add my testimony of praise to God for His infinite goodness to His children. In the fall of 1916, while I was suffering from a complication of diseases which had been pronounced incurable by a number of physicians, Christian Science was presented to me by a dear friend.
