Testimonies of Healing

It affords me joy to express deep gratitude for the many healings I have experienced through the study and application of Christian Science. I distinctly recall my first healing, which occurred about thirty years ago.

I have always been grateful that I was privileged to witness the instantaneous healing by Christian Science of a medically diagnosed incurable disease. After I had acknowledged to myself that my mother would remain an invalid for the rest of her life, one can readily appreciate my overwhelming joy and gratitude to Christian Science when I saw this hideous lie refuted, and my mother able to walk again.

I have long wanted to avail myself of the great privilege of expressing some of the gratitude I feel for Christian Science, hoping that to relate a little of what it has done for me may help others to rely upon it. I was brought up by Christian parents, my father being a Methodist minister.

After receiving much good from the study and demonstration of Christian Science, I feel that it is a duty and privilege to express my gratitude in this testimony. An outstanding healing, and one which I shall ever recall with gratitude, was of deafness caused by mastoid abscesses, which the physician who attended me at the time declared had pierced both eardrums.

About the end of the first week in January, 1929, while waiting for a streetcar, I slipped and fell, my legs going under the running board of a taxi which was standing beside me. When I reached my apartment I found that the front part of my right leg had been scratched in the fall.

After enjoying the benefits of Christian Science for many years, and receiving many healings, I wish to offer this testimony in expression of my deep-felt gratitude. About fourteen years ago, when I was seven, I made a trip from Cleveland, Ohio, where we were living at the time, and visited my sister in St.

Since I have been benefited by Christian Science for over twenty-five years, it is with gratitude for the many blessings received that I send this testimony. I did not take up Christian Science for physical healing, although I needed it.

The following testimony is given with a heart grateful for the many blessings that have come into my experience since I began the study of Christian Science. About five years ago I married into a family of Christian Scientists.

About two years ago our thirteen-year-old boy cut his hand in a machine. After a few days the condition became so bad that we consulted a doctor.

I wish to add my expression of gratitude to those of the thousands who have been uplifted and healed through the truths which have been so lovingly and unselfishly given to us by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and her other writings. Eight years ago it seemed that everything dear to me had been taken away from me.
