Testimonies of Healing
It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I give testimony of my healing through Christian Science. For more than ten years I suffered from a so-called incurable tropical disease.
My first introduction to Christian Science came through the reading of its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I was seeking, not a physical healing, but a religion which taught the truth about God.
So numerous are the blessings I have received through the teachings of Christian Science that I find it impossible to refrain any longer from expressing my gratitude to our loving Father-Mother God and to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and also to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who discovered the Science of Christianity. It was my great privilege to be brought up in a Christian Science home, where I was taught to put this Science into practice in my daily experiences.
Christian Science found me bereft of everything mankind considers requisite to harmonious, useful existence. A long period of convalescence had prepared me for the truths I discovered in Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, and ultimately I was led to a practitioner who has patiently and lovingly helped me to repudiate sense testimony and claim my spiritual birthright.
Christian Science has been my only physician for over twenty-four years. The first healing which I experienced through my own understanding of Christian Science occurred shortly before I was to sing at a recital.
Unemployment is one of the problems which many of us have had to meet in recent years. Christian Science has met this several times for me during the past few years.
About four years ago Christian Science came to me as "a very present help in trouble. " I had been out of work most of the time for about three years, and was discouraged and sick at heart.
My experience in Christian Science has not always been a bed of roses, for I have had many trials. But several early healings, which stand out as beacon lights, have helped me on my way, illuming my path.
Christian Science came to me at a time of great need. For about three years I had been suffering with what the doctors called a tubercular joint, and I had walked with the aid of crutches for about a year.
In gratitude to God and to our Leader, and in order to hold out to others the assurance that there is help for them in Christian Science, I wish to tell of an outstanding experience in my life. For several months I had suffered from what the doctor called inward goiter.
