Testimonies of Healing

About seventeen years ago I began to long to know more about God, and visited churches of different denominations; but not one of these gave me that for which I was longing. Soon after that a friend of mine lost her husband at sea, and I was dreading meeting her again, for I pictured her in a state of complete despair.

Gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me prompts me to give this testimony. I had been sick for some time without obtaining relief from several physicians, who did not and could not agree on a diagnosis.

I was first offered Christian Science by a younger sister. I was so afraid that she had only been deceived by some new-fangled religion that it was very hard for me to accept it.

Since 1902 my employment in railway service has been almost continuous. From 1920 to 1927, however, I was being treated for colitis and endocarditis by some of the foremost specialists in this city, who no doubt exercised all the skill they had, and there was some improvement, for which I am thankful.

Several years ago I was under medical treatment, and after several doctors had informed my family and me that my earthly career was drawing to an end, a friend of mine advised me to try Christian Science. He rendered me some very valuable assistance; but not knowing anything about Christian Science I hesitated to give up my belief in medical aid and delayed following his recommendation until I had arrived at about the same conclusion as that of the medical specialist.

When I turned to Christian Science several years ago, I was very ill, both physically and mentally. Up to that time I had experienced much trouble.

Christian Science was introduced into our home over fifteen years ago and was studied for a number of years, although I was too young to appreciate it at that time. I had my first real opportunity to prove the infallibility of this great truth when I entered high school.

It is a duty and a privilege to acknowledge all the good that has come to me for many years through Christian Science. It has brought relief from physical suffering, danger, limitations, and unhappiness.

I wish to give my testimony as to the benefits received by me through connection with the Christian Science movement. Some time ago I endured great suffering through high blood presure, and was also told by doctors that I had an injury to the heart, for which I was informed nothing could be done.

I wish to give this testimony in order to show my deep gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. From childhood I was under the mortal law of sickness, for many years being unable to do my work, as I was subject to severe attacks of asthma.
