Testimonies of Healing

When discouragement has held sway in my thought and everything has seemed dark, I have been able to reverse the testimony of material sense with spiritual ideas by going back to my first healing in Christian Science, received a number of years ago. At that time I was troubled with neuritis, was very nervous, and for over a year had hardly known what it meant to be free from headache.

Gratitude and a sincere desire to help others prompt me to write this testimony. In twenty-seven years I have had a family of five children, the youngest seven years old now, and have never given any of them a dose of medicine.

I am so filled with gratitude for Christian Science that it is a privilege to acknowledge it to all. The prophet of old said, "And a little child shall lead them.

I feel so grateful for the many beautiful healings received through Christian Science that I feel it is my turn to write my testimony. It is nearly twelve years since I had my first healing, and during that time my life has been full of healings as a result of the application of Christian Science.

I know that my wife's testimony is true. I should also like to say that I have been helped and healed through Christian Science many times.

I should like to tell how I was healed through Christian Science, and how the ever present love of our Father-Mother God was made apparent and the absolute nothingness of matter proved to me. I had been interested in Christian Science a number of years and had been a seeker for Truth.

In 1913 I first became interested in Christian Science and bought "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and started to read it. Every moment that I could spare from my home duties I spent with the Bible and Science and Health.

Many years ago when a friend of mine who was a Christian Scientist told me I could be healed, I thought it was impossible because many physicians had said I could not live. In one Christian Science treatment I was healed of four so-called incurable diseases—adhesion, stomach trouble, heart disease, and defective eyesight.

As I have been so wonderfully helped by reading the testimonies in The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel, I feel that it is my duty and privilege to tell of some of the healings which have taken place in my family through the application of the truth as taught in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had my first healing about fifteen years ago.

Christian Science was brought to my attention in 1912. After reading a borrowed copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy for about a month I was convinced that Christian Science was the only religion to which I could subscribe completely.
