Testimonies of Healing

It has been over thirteen years since I took up the study of Christian Science because my husband thought it might help him. He seemed in a very serious condition, both bodily and mentally, and no longer cared to live.

I have enjoyed the privilege of membership in a branch church and more recently in The Mother Church, and have had many reasons to express my gratitude. Christian Science found me at the age of fourteen years imbued with the teachings of an orthodox religion which I rather blindly believed.

So many healings have come to me through Christian Science that it is with deep gratitude I send this testimony. The first proof of the efficacy of Christian Science came to our family when an elder sister was perfectly and permanently healed after being given up to die by the best physicians in a large city.

I should like to express my gratitude for the healing and blessings that have come to me through Christian Science. My first visit to a practitioner was one of faith and expectancy, for I had tried everything considered worth while.

In Proverbs we read, "How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?" When Christian Science was first mentioned to me by my wife I would not listen. But after a while I began to read some from the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

When I was thirteen years old I was healed through Christian Science of a serious bone trouble after having an operation, wearing a plaster cast, and doing all that doctors could suggest. At that time I was told I could never walk far and never run with other children.

I desire to express my love and gratitude to God for Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, whose teachings have interpreted Jesus' sayings to me, and healed me. I had been under medical treatment from two to three years.

Nearly fifteen years ago I was healed of a serious internal trouble through the operation of Christian Science. And I feel impelled to tell of this healing now in consequence of a recent experience, which tends to show that whilst people no longer question the healing power of Christian Science, some view with grave suspicion any statement that people are healed through simply reading and studying the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Since childhood I have enjoyed the benefits of Christian Science, and the answer to the question of how adequately to repay divine Love has become clearer through Mrs. Eddy's words in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p.

In 1917 I was, as I had been for several years, suffering from constant hemorrhage. One of the leading surgeons of Boston intimated that the cause was cancer, and told me that I must be operated upon without a moment's delay.
