Testimonies of Healing

Twenty-five years ago a friend placed a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy in my hands with the hope that it would help a dear one in my family. After reading for a short while I realized that every word I was reading was the truth, and I could scarcely put the book down until I had read it through.

I have read with gratitude the published testimonies of others in our Christian Science literature. It has occurred to me, since the way has not yet opened for my attending Wednesday evening meetings and therein expressing my gratitude, that I too should make use of the Journal and no longer delay the giving.

I am filled with gratitude for the healing power of Christian Science, which is always available when correctly applied. For many years it has been my only physician for physical ills, for the solving of all problems of human experience, and also for the healing of grief.

It is with a feeling of the deepest and most sincere gratitude that I wish to tell of an experience I had a year or two ago, which once more proved God's omniscience, omnipresence, and continuity. It was my privilege, while visiting at a cousin's home in the West, to read the Lesson-Sermons given in the Christian Science Quarterly, at her request, to my baby cousin, who attends the Christian Science Sunday School.

I had been interested in the study of Christian Science for some time, but had not been able to overcome gallstones. I had many attacks, each one worse than the other.

My first healing in Christian Science was of tonsillitis; I had been operated on for the trouble, but it persisted. With one absent treatment in Christian Science I was permanently cured.

It is with a feeling of sincere gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me that I write this testimony. About three years ago I was in the Northwest but seemed unsuccessful in my work, and for this reason I took up the study of Christian Science and sought the aid of practitioners.

At the time I took up the study of Christian Science I did not know what it would be like to be free from some ailment, for I had been under the doctor's care for a number of years. I was discouraged, and hardly able to work in the office where I was employed, being out a good part of the time.

It is sixteen years since I began the study of Christian Science. For two years before that I had not been well, and had been to many doctors and tried many methods of treatment.

Before Christian Science was introduced to me I used to think of business merely as one way of obtaining enough money and material goods to supply one's needs, and I should like to tell how the study of Christian Science has changed this outlook entirely. I was engaged in a small business when this so-called depression came knocking at the door.
