Testimonies of Healing

Very joyfully and with a grateful heart I wish to testify to God's unspeakable love, made manifest to me through Christian Science. For seventeen years I suffered from a severe stomach trouble and pain by day and night.

For nearly thirty years I have experienced the blessings and benefits offered through the study, application, and demonstration of Christian Science. Many years ago I was healed of a so-called hereditary morphine habit, together with all the concomitant effects superinduced by long and continued use of the drug—insomnia, loss of appetite, and emaciation.

It is a wonderful privilege and a sacred duty to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. The dawning of this glorious truth in my consciousness was the beginning of a new life for me.

Christian Science came to me in an hour of dire need. Discouraged by the continued seemingly hopeless condition of our little boy (then about six years old), I was on my knees praying to be delivered from the darkness that seemed to surround me, asking God to take me out of it if there was no other way, but that if there was, please to show me that way, and suddenly I realized it was Christian Science that would lift me out of that darkness.

One Sunday afternoon I was seized with an attack of influenza so severe that I was unable to do any effective work to overcome it. By evening I felt very ill indeed, and the next morning I was manifesting severe symptoms.

Fifteen years ago, when in great physical and mental need after a general breakdown, I became interested in Christian Science and was prevailed upon to purchase the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This step I shall always be grateful for.

I too wish to add a word of gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine. I am especially grateful for the Christian Science Sunday School, which our two daughters have the privilege of attending, for there they are learning to build on a sure foundation.

Over twenty years ago I found the "pearl of great price" through the study and application of Christian Science. A near neighbor who was just beginning the study called my attention to it, and lent me some of the literature.

Many times I have felt I should like to tell the world what Christian Science has done for me and mine. Six years ago we were in despair, for my husband was suffering from a growth in the throat which the doctors could not cure.

I became interested in Christian Science fifteen years ago through a neighbor who had had a beautiful healing. She was so grateful, she gave me some Christian Science literature to read.
