Testimonies of Healing
It is in a spirit of deep gratitude that I send this testimony of an outstanding case of healing through Christian Science. When my son was a little over two years old, he suddenly developed spasms of an alarming nature.
The study of Christian Science has taught me how to turn to God in every difficulty. As I have learned the truths about God and man, His image and likeness, and have applied them, my every need has been met.
Like many others, I took up Christian Science as a last resort. Having faithfully tried medicine, diet, baths, change of climate, and many so-called cures in my search for healing, and not finding even relief for heart trouble, indigestion, bowel trouble, and rheumatism, I was directed to a Christian Science practitioner.
I am most happy to have had the privilege of being reared in Christian Science and of seeing its healing power proved from earliest childhood. The first healing which occurred in our family was that of my grandmother, who was healed in a few treatments of a condition that had caused her years of suffering and had been diagnosed as incurable by five physicians.
Christian Science was first brought to my notice at a time when a member of my family had been given up by physicians because of heart disease. A neighbor lent her the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
[Original testimony in German] With a glad and thankful heart I wish to testify to a quick healing brought about with the help of a loving practitioner. In the year 1919 I became acquainted with Christian Science through my dear mother-in-law, who had been a Christian Scientist for many years, and who had frequently told me of her many blessings and experiences.
The testimonies in all the periodicals have been such a help to me in working out similar problems that it would only be procrastination further to delay my expression of gratitude for all the wonderful things Christian Science has brought me. Needless to say, not all of these experiences may be enumerated here.
I should like to give thanks for the healing of a compound fracture of the ankle. I was helping to nurse my father, who was very ill at my brother's house.
I should like to express my gratitude for a wonderful healing that I had in January, 1930. Ice on my back porch caused me to slip and fall about eight or nine feet to the ground.
Fifteen years ago Christian Science found me filled with fear. Our daughter, then six years of age, had been given up by the doctors.
