Testimonies of Healing
With deep gratitude I give these proofs of the healing power of Christian Science. This beautiful religion was brought to my attention while I was training to become a medical nurse.
I know of no greater joy than that of sharing with others the fruits of one's experiences in Christian Science. The opportunity of testifying in the Christian Science periodicals is a most valuable one to me, because I have received so much help from the testimonies of others.
The greatest desire of my heart is to testify to the blessings which I have experienced through Christian Science, that others too may be helped. Eight years ago my son became ill with diphtheria.
In Isaiah it is written: "And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
It is with sincere gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and to Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, that I give this testimony, with the hope that others who have struggled long with the belief in error may take courage. For a number of years I had eczema on my hands.
More than twenty-five years ago, and in a time of great need, Christian Science was brought to my attention by an associate in a business office. Though not a student at that time, this friend had been greatly impressed with the healing that had come to a friend of hers through the application of Christian Science.
Because I am beginning in a small degree to realize how important it is to be steadfastly grateful for all right ideas, as they unfold, and to express that gratitude, I want to give my testimony. Christian Science has given me help, comfort, and a better understanding all along the way, when I have turned to it for help and made the right effort.
Twelve years ago, not knowing anything about this great truth— Christian Science—and in a very unhappy state of mind, I tried to take my life. I was taken to a hospital in Drammen, Norway, where I then resided.
How beautiful it is to know that we can, in times of trial, patiently and lovingly wait on our dear heavenly Father to fulfill His purpose. As our thought opens up to Christian Science, we see more of the ageless man, and of eternal Life.
It is with profound gratitude that I bear witness to the truth of the Biblical statement, "A little child shall lead them," for it was through the loving receptivity of our small son that I was finally led to accept Christian Science. Many times during the earlier part of my life Christian Science was presented to me.
