Testimonies of Healing

I am deeply grateful for Christian Science, and for the wonderment and joy of my first Christian Science treatment. After several days' illness I had collapsed, and had been carried to my room.

Ever since childhood I had suffered from asthma. The doctors told my parents that I should outgrow it, but, instead, I grew worse.

Love and gratitude prompt me to write this testimony, for I have experienced the blessings promised in the opening lines of the Preface to the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy ( p.

Christian Science was first brought to my attention in the year 1912, when I was suffering from a severe attack of pleurisy. A doctor had told me that one of my lungs was affected with tuberculosis.

Prior to the World War I experienced a great deal of discomfort from a physical disorder known as athlete's foot. This disease was greatly aggravated by the conditions under which we lived in the army while in France.

I am indeed grateful to Almighty God, to Christian Science, and to Mary Baker Eddy for a wonderful healing which I received some years ago in Christian Science. I was taken suddenly ill, and was told by our physician that a major operation alone would give me relief.

I am grateful for the understanding of the Bible which Christian Science has given me. The authorized Christian Science literature and lectures are a wonderful help, and our Hymnal has been a great comfort and guide to me.

I hereby bear witness to the foregoing testimony of my wife, and sincerely acknowledge the healing power of Christian Science. I am very grateful that my wife has been healed of tetanus, for the doctor had informed me that the medical profession had not found a cure for her condition.

About seven years ago, while we were going through the so-called depression, I had a lodginghouse upon which we depended for our livelihood. One room did not rent readily, and I visited a Christian Science practitioner one afternoon to gain help on supply.

Although I did not take up the study of Christian Science for healing, but because it appealed to me as a most practical and logical religion and one that opened the Scriptures to me, I have experienced many healings. A case of hemorrhoids was overcome after I started to attend the Sunday and Wednesday evening services of the Christian Science church.
