For many years I have been enjoying the testimonies in The Christian Science Journal and Christian Science Sentinel, and I feel it is a duty and privilege to add mine to the many thousands. Sixteen years ago I walked into a Christian Science church because of curiosity. At that Wednesday evening testimony meeting I was so impressed that the next day I took off a bandage I had worn for sixteen years for varicose veins, and never have I needed it again. Then I got the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, reading for the first time something in my own language (German) that I could not understand. Then I read it in the original language; and I have been reading and studying it ever since; also all of Mrs. Eddy's other writings.
Much good has come to me and mine through the application of this wonderful teaching. Colds, burns, influenza, a nervous breakdown, business problems, grief, and many other discordant conditions have been healed, mostly with my own understanding, but a few times with the help of loving practitioners.
For God's wonderful protecting care I am more grateful than mere words can express. Daily I pray for more light and understanding to prove by my living that I am worthy of the name "Christian Scientist." For the Manual of The Mother Church and our Hymnal I am especially grateful; also for membership in The Mother Church and one of its branches, and for class instruction. Realizing each day the great work and revelation to this age by the Discoverer, Founder, and great Leader of Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy, I am striving to follow, as she followed, Christ.— San Bernardino, California.
