INFINITE SUPPLY

From the November 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

IN the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy makes this statement (Science and Health, p.258): "God expresses in man the infinite idea forever developing itself, broadening and rising higher and higher from a boundless basis." This truth thoroughly understood and digested would dispel once and for all time the fear that there could be a lack of any good thing, or that supply could be uncertain or fluctuating, for man, the expression of God, is like God—eternal, perfect, and complete.

That which emanates from God is man, and spiritual man expresses God's glory in continuous unfoldment and growth. The nature of God knows no boundary or limitation; therefore, man can know none. Limitation of right activity, of supply, of any good thing is, in reality, an impossibility; and the Christian Scientist knows that as he accepts his true status as "an individual consciousness, characterized by the divine Spirit as idea, not matter"(Science and Health, p.76), to that extent is he freed from the belief of lack, a belief that has no real existence because it has no real origin.

There is no distance separating God and His idea. Man's at-one-ment with infinite Love is a fact, and consequently there is no waiting between God's giving and man's receiving of exhaustless supply. And man has the ability constantly to understand and utilize this great truth. Each individual idea receives its supply directly from God.
