VISION

From the November 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Everliving! In Thy kingdom
Nothing withers, nothing dies;
Glorious perfection ever
Greets with joy Thy children's eyes.

But the dream of separation
Blurs and mars our frightened gaze;
Groping midst earth's treacherous shadows
We forget Thy name to praise.

Clarion call from Zion's mountain:
Look ye up! Awake, awake!
Keep the vision strong, and faithful,
Phantom fetters it will break.

Truth doth stir, and Love doth conquer —
Oh, the zest, the wondrous worth!
Brought within the grasp of mortals
Are new heaven and new earth.
