IN Matthew we read the words of Christ Jesus, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." What an invitation ! What a call to each individual to awaken from the material sense dream, and look understandingly to our Father-Mother God, who is Love!
In the spiritual realm, man is always in the presence of God, at-one with Him, safe and secure above the mist and confusion of materiality. God, the divine Principle of harmony, forever reigns, governing the real universe, including man. In this heavenly sphere there is no sin; no lack, limitation, sorrow, depression, accident; no fear of disease or death. Think what a habitation this must be, with its abundance of peace, where the real man of God's creating is free, untouched by the false claims of mortality, of material beliefs that would separate men from inspiration and revelation; from health, strength, and usefulness; from the qualities which are man's by reflection! Truth speaks to mankind and bids each one come out of darkness into the light of God's glorious kingdom, where there is not one idea too many or too few, each and all being necessary to the activity of His peaceful realm. This consciousness of rest is entirely apart from the dream of life in matter, with its unreal bondage of fear and woe.
But one may ask, How can men, living in a world of tribulation, surrounded by material evidence based on sense-testimony, find the path that leads to this heavenly realm? The answer is that these discordant conditions are but lying beliefs, unreal images of so-called mortal mind. Thought cannot enter into God's mansions of pure consciousness until one is willing to follow in the footsteps of our dear Master, Christ Jesus, who plainly instructed us how to behold the perfect truth of being where the imperfect, false sense of it appears. Mrs. Eddy has shown us Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p.238) that to "place the fact above the falsehood, is the work of time."Through the study of Christian Science, the religion of Love, thought is lifted out of the belief of life in matter into the grand realization of Life as God, Spirit, Mind. This is the religion that was taught and practiced by Jesus, and given to mankind again by Mary Baker Eddy.
