I became interested in Christian Science fifteen years ago through a neighbor who had had a beautiful healing. She was so grateful, she gave me some Christian Science literature to read. The testimonies of healing and all that I read seemed wonderful and true; I believed all I read.
We had a great deal of sickness in our home at that time. My daughter, then seven years old, had a cough which the medicines and treatments we had given her did not help. When she would have a coughing spell, it seemed as if she would choke. She was the first to be taken to a Christian Science practitioner. When told about the condition, the practitioner said: "Do not worry; she will be all right. Just know that God is Love;" and she told the child to repeat after her, "God is Love." In two treatments the child was healed, and has had no return of the trouble.
During the so-called influenza epidemic in 1918 my husband was taken ill, and for two weeks seemed to be wavering between life and death. But through the consecrated, steadfast work of the same practitioner he was completely healed.
