In appreciation of the many blessings which I have received through the application of Christian Science I offer this testimony. God has been my only physician in the past few years, and He has never failed me at any time. Each extremity has truly been an opportunity to prove His allness and perfection.
Some time ago, in the middle of the night. I was awakened by an excruciating pain in the abdomen. I declared the truth immediately and denied the reality of any discordant condition. Over and over again I made scientific declarations, but to mortal sense the pain grew worse and fear crept in. Before long I could not lie still in any position and could hardly stand. I remained in this condition for some time, trying all the while to help myself, and finally managed to reach the telephone and call a practitioner. Never shall I forget the few minutes that she talked with me, telling me that "a spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p.463). Her firm declaration and clear understanding of the truth did remove the error from my consciousness, for I returned to bed and fell asleep almost at once. When I awoke, several hours later, I could move with more ease; and before the day was over I was entirely free.
I have also been healed of appendicitis, a very irritating discharge, an abscessed tooth, a bad burn on the hand, colds, and sick headaches. Many other healings have been experienced, too numerous to mention here. Some of these healings were accomplished quickly, others slowly; some demonstrations were made through my own work and some with the kind help and support of a practitioner. For each and every problem I am grateful, for with each problem came a lesson, and by these lessons I am learning to walk in the straight and narrow way.
