From the November 1941 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I should like to add my hymn of praise and gratitude for the many blessings I have received since taking up the study of Christian Science. Its clear, logical reasoning definitely refutes every argument of evil. For over twenty-five years it has been my only physician. Sickness, sorrow, and a chaotic financial condition have all been healed through the understanding of what man is and his relation to God.

Some time ago, on a gray, foggy morning, depression and unhappiness crept into my consciousness. The thought then came to me that the singing of some of our hymns might rout this unhappy suggestion. At this moment I glanced at the headlines of a newspaper and saw these words: "Aerial bombardment fills the skies." The words of the Communion Doxology came to me quickly:

"Be Thou, O God, exalted high,
And as Thy glory fills the sky,
So let it be on earth displayed.
Till Thou art here and now obeyed."
