"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse...

From the February 1954 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it" (Mal. 3:10).

Since I have stopped trying to work with both matter and Spirit and have relied only on God, my blessings have been beyond my greatest expectations. We have had far too many proofs of His love and care to mention all of them in the space allotted; so I shall relate only a few.

One afternoon when I had been manifesting symptoms of a severe cold and the outside temperature was near zero, our younger son came home with his clothing saturated with water that was freezing. He had fallen through the ice while crossing a lake. I became filled with gratitude that he had been saved from the icy water, and I declared that nothing but good had in reality taken place; therefore only good could be the result. After having a warm bath and dinner he was none the worse for the experience. In the midst of my gratitude my cold disappeared.
