I have experienced so many blessings through Christian Science that it is my desire to express my gratitude. In my former religion I no longer found any satisfaction; I felt that something was lacking. In addition, I was suffering from illness at the time of so-called change of life. Longing greatly for healing, I wished that Christ Jesus were still with us in order that I might touch his garment and be well.
One day my husband brought home a copy of The Herald of Christian Science (German Edition). Before I had finished reading the first article I said, "Now I have found what was lacking." As I read I saw that there is only a God of love, whereas I had hitherto believed in a God of both love and punishment. I felt so secure in Love that all fear was removed, and I slept the following night as I had not done for a long time.
Soon I obtained "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and read it diligently. I found it unnecessary to go to the hospital for an operation, as the physician had advised me to do, and I did not go to him again. The thought came to me that it was God's will for me to continue to live, and I cannot express in words the feeling of happiness that came over me as I discerned that fact. I knew that I was well, even though the physical appearance did not yet seem normal. Within a short time I was completely healed. In the twenty-five years since then countless blessings have been experienced by me and mine through Christian Science.
