"Are we really grateful for the good already received?" asks Mary Baker Eddy on page 3 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." This probing question has aroused in me the desire to write an expression of gratitude for what Christian Science has meant in my experience.
Nearly twenty years ago, at a time of need, loved friends began to lead my thoughts toward God through the study of the Bible and Science and Health. The gentleness, kindness, generosity, love, and other beautiful qualities expressed by these friends helped greatly to quiet the mortal misgivings which at times caused me great mental distress and fear.
Employment was needed, and until a permanent position was obtained I found part-time occupations. During these months supply was manifested in marvelous ways, proving a much-loved statement from Science and Health (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."
