It is with sincere gratitude to God for Christian Science and for the many blessings it has brought me that I give this testimony. My first healing was that of a chronic throat trouble which had bothered me all through my early childhood. When I was twelve years old, my parents entered me in the Christian Science Sunday School. This was at a very critical time, because an operation had been recommended by the physicians.
I shall never forget the joy and spiritual inspiration that came to me through my study of Christian Science and the loving guidance of my Sunday School teachers. So receptive was my thought to the beautiful truth of man as God's child, His own image and likeness, that with no further medical aid, I was, in a very short time, completely healed of the throat difficulty, and the healing has been permanent. From then on, my daily life has been governed by the teachings of Christian Science.
Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 233): "Every day makes its demands upon us for higher proofs rather than professions of Christian power. These proofs consist solely in the destruction of sin, sickness, and death by the power of Spirit, as Jesus destroyed them. This is an element of progress, and progress is the law of God, whose law demands of us only what we can certainly fulfil."
