A Few years ago it was necessary for me, in connection with work I was then doing, to attend and observe the national convocation of one of the great Protestant denominations. For a week or more I listened to devout, earnest men and women speak of God in terms that I myself would have used.
I was roused to recognize a fundamental truth which Christian Science reveals. This Science presents not only a perfect God but also the expression of Him in perfect man and perfect universe. God is not in a far-off heaven. Man is not in a material universe and bereft of divine aid. God is ever present and fully expressed, not somewhere else, but right now and right here.
Here is where Christian Science advances religion into the scientific application of practical truths. And it is the responsibility of Christian Scientists to prove in daily life how practical this religion is.
