For more than twenty years Christian Science has been my only physician, and my gratitude to God for our Leader and for the textbook, Science and Health, which she wrote, is immeasurable. During these years I have had many proofs of God's loving care and protection enabling me to enjoy a full, happy, and healthy life.
One Sunday morning I arose suffering from an attack of laryngitis. It seemed quite impossible for me to fulfill my duty as a Reader in a Christian Science Society. I sent a telephone message to this effect, but I was lovingly invited to read the twenty-ninth Psalm, several statements of which are: "The voice of the Lord is upon the waters. . . . The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars."
This gave me courage, for I realized that the Word of God is not dependent for expression upon material means. Then I knew that nothing can interfere with the harmony of man as the reflection of God, for infinite Love fills all space; hence there is no space in which evil can operate.
