For the understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him, as we learn it in Christian Science, I am deeply grateful. During the last twenty years all my physical difficulties have been healed quickly and completely when I have turned prayerfully to God, and many healings, including those of colds, burns, a stiff neck, headaches, and sprains, were immediate.

About a year ago I was shopping in a large city when suddenly I had all the symptoms of influenza. Fearful thoughts suggested that I should return home, and after a period of unsuccessful mental struggle, I did just that. Getting on the streetcar, I was overcome by a sense of shame at having yielded to the suggestion. I was not surprised that I had bought few items on my shopping list; I had been too busy shopping mentally for physical symptoms, and I was loaded down only with these.

I then took a firm stand in an effort to overcome the false beliefs I had entertained. I turned wholeheartedly to "the scientific statement of being," found in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 468), and repeated it slowly, giving quiet thought to each phrase, including "Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error." Before I left the car, I was completely fre.
