Neither Too Much nor Too Little

From the October 1974 issue of The Christian Science Journal

From many quarters come reports, rumors, and predictions of worldwide shortages. The list includes many essential and important elements of human life, such as food crops, dairy products, minerals, sources of energy, paper, and the like, all of which have their origin in the earth. Population increase, pollution, waste, lack of foresight, mismanagement, are thought to share responsibility for shortage.

Despite tremendous advances in technology, despite all the wonders wrought by mankind, still there remains a basic fear of lack; and fear, attracting its own penalties, freezes intelligence.

In Christian Science, creation is seen to be the continuous unfolding of what is already present in divine Mind. Laws of Spirit and of the one, spiritual creation permit of no variance. They inform, instruct, and command. They refer to man in his true relationship to God. These laws of Spirit operate with all the authority of divine Principle, evidencing God's absolute harmony and control. In His creation there is never too much, and therefore no waste. There is never too little, and therefore no lack. These laws of the universe, spiritual and perfect, obeyed, can establish harmony in the lives of all men.
