As Christ Jesus and his disciples shared their last Passover meal together on the evening before the crucifixion, did they reflect on the activities of the last few weeks —weeks filled with healing and teaching? Did the disciples ponder the lessons Jesus had taught them?
Even at this solemn point in his career he still had a vital command for them— and for us—one on which he placed great emphasis. He said, "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."John 13:34;
This new commandment, when understood and obeyed, is in itself sufficient to heal all the problems of the world today. In fact, it is the key to every challenge facing mankind. As we follow it, we understand how much God loves us, how greatly beloved we are, and our love for Him and for one another increases.
