Freshness of Thought —and Experience

From the October 1974 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The quality of our thought determines the freshness of our lives and bodies, our homes and environment. Freshness, purity, harmony, and beauty are spiritual qualities emanating from the Most High. Because they originate in divine Mind, they are always perfect. They are eternal components of man, who reflects God, ever-present good.

In our true, incorporeal being, each one of us already includes unvarying freshness, but we need to demonstrate this in human experience. To do so, we must challenge and overcome the illusory belief in deterioration. Whether the problem is the physical deterioration due to disease or old age, or the slow, steady erosion of a marriage, business, or friendship, it can be solved by recourse to the spiritual facts as revealed in Christian Science.

The real man is always pure and perfect because he is the child of God, Spirit. He is not a declining mortal imprisoned in a polluted, material universe. Because he is the image, the idea, of infinite Mind, his being is sustained by Mind. Man reflects divine Life. Expressing the joy and harmony forever unfolding from Soul, he is the product of divine Love's loving.
