Never Lonely

From the October 1974 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A loved one gone—the children half a country away—the last child off to school —a husband away on a business trip—a new job a thousand miles from home—a divorce. Who has not at times felt the pangs of loneliness: the emptiness, the deep longing for someone to talk to, someone to listen, someone who cares?

To the lone heart Christian Science brings a reassuring and satisfying answer: You are not alone; God is with you. And this truth does more than comfort one in his loneliness. It acts immediately to take away the pangs.

Christian Science reveals God close to man—indeed, man is at one with God. Man's relationship with God is never broken. Therefore man is never alone. Loneliness is merely a failure to see all-oneness, that is, one's inseparability from the divine source. There is no aloneness in the truth of man's unity with God.
