The Basis of Branch Church Progress: Individual Devotion

Is the Science of Christianity to continue to bless suffering humanity, bringing hope, purpose, and salvation from sickness and sin? Then branch Churches of Christ, Scientist, must continue to manifest harmony, healing, new membership, supply, and support of their various church activities.

According to Christian Science, progress is God's law. Inasmuch as God's law is enforced by Him, omnipotent Mind, infinite divine Principle, it is ever operating and ever unfolding perfect good. Anything suggesting the opposite of progress and goodness—stagnation, lack, or strife—must not be of God; therefore it is unreal and without might. It is evil, which Christian Science teaches is the offspring of an illusory carnal mind, the material opposite of the unerring, immortal Mind, God.

If lack of progress or any other evil condition is claiming place and power within branch churches, members do well to consider what Christ Jesus told his disciples many years ago: "A man's foes shall be they of his own household." Matt. 10:36;
