Testimonies of Healing

I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science. In the past nine years I have received many physical healings.

It is over eighteen years since this wonderful truth was presented to me. I did not turn to it for physical healing, but from a sincere desire to know God, because I found myself unable to accept the teachings of the church in which I had been brought up.

As I eagerly read the testimonies in each number of the Journal and Sentinel, I feel that I must add my own expression of gratitude for Christian Science. To-day I am obeying that call in the way so wisely provided by Mrs.

I have been interested in Christian Science for over sixteen years, and during this time it has never failed to meet my every need when faithfully applied and strictly adhered to. I have seen many beautiful healings with myself and children, including painless childbirth, pneumonia, and many of the diseases children are subject to.

" If you knew God well enough, that cold would disappear like mist before the morning sun," was the answer of a Christian Science practitioner over the telephone to a mother fearful for her babe, but realizing faintly that Christian Science is the panacea for all earthly woes. A few weeks before this, many mortal beliefs, calling themselves laws, had been destroyed at the birth of this child; and this with no previous knowledge of Christian Science, and only a little reading of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Before I took up the study of Christian Science the Bible was to me an incomprehensible book. I had begun to read it at different times, but had soon put it away again.

Sixteen years ago I was healed instantaneously, through an absent treatment in Christian Science, of back trouble which was so severe that I could not walk without experiencing pain. I knew that a wonderful change had come over me, and my next step was to find out how the healing had been accomplished.

Being desirous of helping my fellow-men, I am happy to bear testimony to the blessings I have received since knowing of Christian Science. First, I shall tell of a healing of defective sight, which medical science had declared incurable.

Christian Science has meant so much to me ever since I was a child that I find words inadequate to express my gratitude. Our first contact with Christian Science came through the healing of my mother of a very severe form of eczema.

Ten years ago, when I was suffering from a great grief caused by the passing on of a loved one, and had reached the stage where I had lost all faith in God and His willingness to answer prayer, a neighbor said to me, "I have the Christian Science textbook; would you like to read it?" As I said I would, she brought it to me. I started to read, and had been doing so only a short time, about two hours, when a great joy flooded my consciousness as I realized that what this book said was true.
