Testimonies of Healing

I feel that I have a personal duty to perform,—that of expressing my gratitude through the Sentinel for the great benefits I have received from Christian Science. Language fails to express my gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs.

Sincere gratitude, as well as the desire to help some sufferer, induces me to write this testimony. In the spring of 1906 I was taken with rheumatism of the joints, manifesting itself very severely on account of heart trouble.

In the beginning of my study of Christian Science, that which appealed to me most strongly was the teaching of Science in regard to divine Love. St.

It gives me pleasure to confirm the statements of my wife respecting the efficacy of Christian Science treatment in healing our children. During the past seven years this truth has been our sole remedy, and we have proved it to be certain in its results.

When my youngest child was seventeen months old, during the month of August she became very weak from what appeared to be a form of bowel disorder. One night she cried out so feebly once or twice, while apparently asleep, that I became alarmed, and taking her in my arms went down-stairs.

In love and thankfulness to God, and gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I wish to tell of some of the benefits which I have received from Christian Science.

I have so many things to be grateful for in Christian Science that it would be difficult to enumerate them all, but I would like to relate my first demonstration in Science. For thirty years I was a victim of the drink habit, for over fifteen years being completely dominated thereby.

With a deep sense of gratitude, I feel it my duty to tell those who may be wandering in the wilderness as I was, that Christian Science does heal us, both physically and spiritually, if we are willing to leave all for Christ, and follow him who said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. " For many years I had been an invalid, suffering from what materia medica called neuralgia of the muscles.

The testimonies of others have helped me so much that I offer mine in the hope of making some return. It has been about three years since Christian Science was first brought to me.

I would like to express my gratitude through the pages of the Journal for the great privilege of being, or of trying to be, a Christian Scientist. Although the way has been uphill and the struggles with self very severe, I am finding that in proportion as I love the truth, and try to bring it into my daily life, and live it instead of talk it, the way grows more and more beautiful, and the cross melts into the crown.
