Testimonies of Healing

For a number of years I have been reading and benefiting by the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals. I was awakened from a thought of receiving to one of giving by reading an article that was published in The Christian Science Journal.

I have waited too long to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science and all that it has done for me and my family. About twenty-one years ago I had a desire to get nearer to God and felt that the religion I was following did not help me much in this respect.

My gratitude goes out to God for the precious gift which Mary Baker Eddy gave to the world in her revelation of Christian Science. Membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church has been a great help to me in many ways.

The change in my outlook on life since taking up the study of Christian Science has been so wonderful that I have long felt the urge to express my gratitude in writing. After several years of medical and hospital treatment a weakened internal condition caused by the birth of our son resulted in periodic hemorrhages.

It is a happy privilege to acknowledge all the good that has come to me for many years through the application of Christian Science, which has brought freedom from physical suffering, danger, limitation, loneliness, and unhappiness. My first healing came about through the reading of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Christian Science came into my experience at a time when I was in an emotional and nervous state of mind. An operation and nine months' rest cure had failed to be of any permanent value in healing what threatened to be a serious stomach condition.

For many years I have gleaned and accepted the good from the articles and testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals, to which I am greatly indebted. Christian Science first came into my life when I was a small child, but through the events of the years it became lost to me, although the seed was sown through this brief contact.

With the prayerful desire to help another on the road from sense to Soul, I give the following testimony and gratefully bear witness to the fact that Christian Science is the Comforter promised by the Way-shower, Christ Jesus. Her life of consecration and devotion to the Cause of Christian Science, which she discovered and founded, and her great love for all mankind, have endeared Mary Baker Eddy to the hearts of loyal Christian Scientists throughout the world.

I wish to offer my testimony in joyous gratitude to God for the infinite blessings I have received through the study and application of Christian Science. The first healing which seemed outstanding to me was that of a nervous breakdown.
