Testimonies of Healing
I wish to express gratitude for all the blessings that have come to me through God's loving care when I have been obedient to the rules laid down for us in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Christian Science was first heard of in our home when my mother was suffering from ulcers and had been given up by physicians.
I wish to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science and for the unselfish devotion of Mary Baker Eddy in giving it to the world. I am most grateful that my family accepted Christian Science the second time it was presented to us about fourteen years ago.
Roget's Thesaurus gives "acknowledgment" as one of the synonyms of gratitude. I wish to acknowledge the benefits I have received through the study of Christian Science.
I did not begin the study of Christian Science with the thought of physical healing, but because of a deep longing for something more than I was finding in my activity in an orthodox church. At this time of seeking I was led to ask my next-door neighbor, who was a Christian Science practitioner, what her religion taught about the questions that were troubling me.
I am profoundly grateful for Christian Science, the law of good, which has restored the true religion of our Master and Way-shower, Christ Jesus, as taught in the Bible and in our precious textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and in her other writings.
All my life I have received the benefits of Christian Science, and I want to express my gratitude. One of the things for which I am most grateful is the foundation laid in the Christian Science Sunday School.
Science And Health by Mrs. Eddy was brought into our home and laid carefully aside for some time.
Twenty-Six years ago, after a very difficult confinement when I held a living son in my arms contrary to the expectation of the doctors, my one desire was that he might never injure or kill another mother's son. Although at the time I did not understand the nature of God and His spiritual creation in the light of Christian Science, I had great confidence in Him.
I am very grateful that Christian Science came to me over thirty years ago when I was searching for a satisfying religion. I had been reared by religious parents and had joined an orthodox church, but did not receive the peace and joy which I felt should result from church membership.
