Testimonies of Healing
My introduction to Christian Science was through attending a session of the Sunday School. I was invited to go with a playmate who was a regular pupil.
The manifold blessings which have come to me during the past eleven years I attribute entirely to the healing power of Christian Science. At an early age, I was unable to accept the teachings of the Congregational church which I attended, and later, failing to find a religion which was demonstrable in daily experience and which could explain intelligently the miracles which took place in Jesus' time, I became an agnostic.
Recently I have had daily proof of God's care, and of what an understanding of Christian Science will do in times of distress. There are two specific healings I wish to mention.
The Bible says in Jeremiah ( 31:3 ), "I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. " This truth was proved to me when Christian Science entered my experience.
I wish to express gratitude for the worth-while experiences that have been mine since I began trying to live up to my understanding of Christian Science. After I had been in the Navy a while, I found myself in a position where I was not very useful.
In the Bible we read ( Ps. 145:18 ), "The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
" But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you" ( John 14:26 ). When Christian Science found me I was very confused about God.
With sincere thankfulness to God, I submit this testimony in the hope that it will bring courage and expectancy of good to others. I am very grateful for Christian Science, for consecrated Christian Scientists, and for practitioners who hold up our hands as Aaron and Hur held up Moses' hands (Ex.
I have received so many blessings from the study and application of Christian Science that I should be most ungrateful if I delayed longer to share some of my healings with others. A number of years ago I began to read Science through curiosity.
