Testimonies of Healing
With a great sense of gratitude for the many years of health and protection that I have enjoyed since taking up the study of Christian Science, I write this testimony. Since I have derived such an abundance of good from reading the testimonies in the periodicals, I want to add mine that it may enable someone in need to find hope and understanding.
Whenever I get a new Journal or Sentinel I turn at once to the testimonies of healing, for they bear grateful witness to the fact that Christian Science heals all manner of diseases in all parts of the globe. Now the time has come for me to express my own gratitude, as far as I can in words.
The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have been so helpful to me that I should like to add mine, hoping it will benefit some who may be struggling with a similar experience. During my early childhood, my mother suffered from attacks of quinsy at intervals of two or three months.
Because of the great good Christian Science has brought into my life during the past twenty-eight years, I wish to express my deep gratitude for it and share my experience with others. Christian Science was introduced to me by a friend, to whom I shall ever be grateful. I did not take up its study for myself, but for my daughter.
Mary Baker Eddy , the beloved Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, refers to God as the "adorable One" (Science and Health, p. 16 ).
I have a great deal for which to thank God. Christian Science came into our home when I was six years of age.
I should like to share with other students of Christian Science the experience of protection and healing that my brother had while overseas in combat duty. He had been stationed in England for a year prior to the invasion of Normandy in June, 1944, and wrote that he hoped to prove good enough to "make the first team.
Through the concept of mother love taught in Christian Science, which our Leader so beautifully lived and exemplified in providing manifold opportunities for the spiritual welfare of her followers, comes the blessed privilege of contributing testimonies of healing at our Wednesday evening meetings and to our periodicals. My heart overflows with gratitude for this revelation of Truth stated by Mrs.
