Testimonies of Healing
It is a number of years since I had my first healing, an almost instantaneous one, through the power of Christian Science. Before becoming acquainted with Science, as Mrs.
My heart is full of gratitude for Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. I am deeply grateful for the physical healings I have had in Science, but especially for the spiritual understanding that man is made in the image and likeness of God and that the real man is sinless.
It is many years since my testimony first appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel . These years have been filled with blessings and with progress in the understanding of this great discovery of the ages, Christian Science.
I want to express publicly my gratitude to the one who pointed the way of healing, Christian Science, to me at a time when it seemed as if all were lost. I had exhausted the very best efforts of medical authorities in the treatment of asthma.
It is with heartfelt gratitude that I acknowledge the healing power of Christian Science, through which innumerable discordant conditions, physical, financial, and social, have been overcome and the harmony of the Christ-presence has been manifested. The disappearance of false appetites gave the greatest impetus to my progress in demonstrating the truth revealed in the study of this wonderful Science.
Many people ask, when thinking of trying Christian Science for the first time, if one has to have faith to be healed. From my own experience I answer "No.
My first healing, many years ago, occurred after a serious elevator accident. I was crushed and rendered unconscious, then fell a distance of twenty-two feet, landing on a steel rail.
In Isaiah ( 35:6-8 ) we read: "For in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
A public expression of gratitude for Christian Science is appropriate at this time because of the many healings I have experienced. These healings are an example of the efficacy of God's law, or Christian Science.
